Dr. Ioannis Liakos — Founding Editor-in-Chief (2026–present)

Dr. Ioannis Liakos is the founding Editor-in-Chief of the ICAIRI Journal of AI in Anticancer Research and the founder of the International Cancer Artificial Intelligence Research Institute (ICAIRI), Athens, Greece, with which he is currently affiliated. He holds a Ph.D. from the University of Manchester and completed postdoctoral research at the Italian Institute of Technology (IIT), Genoa, followed by a postdoctoral research position at the National Centre for Scientific Research "Demokritos," Athens, and a role as Scientific Officer at the European Commission Joint Research Centre (EC JRC). His research focuses on the application of artificial intelligence to anticancer research, including the development of AI-driven cancer digital twin systems for treatment planning and outcome prediction, and computational approaches to toxicology and drug-substance affinity prediction relevant to oncology. He is the author of approximately 74 peer-reviewed publications with over 2,600 citations.
